Arch Enemy
So here's one of my favorite band Arch Enemy. Personally, I think the new lineup is way better than the older one. Angela Gossow can really do some awesome vocals compared to Johan Liivia, but that's my opinion. Tell me what you think. This is from their most recent dvd, Tyrants of the Rising Sun: Live in Japan

Dimmu Borgir
It's interesting to define Dimmu Borgir as a genre. I'd probably call them Pseudo-Black Metal. While they're darker than most blackened death metal bands, they don't really fall into the same category. Tell me what you think.

Meshuggah
So what do you get when you put together 5 classically trained musician and have them play death metal? You get Meshuggah, who are, in my opinion, the greatest metal artists of the 21st century. They have already received a great reception from many non-metal musicians as well as many non metal fans.
Sonata Artica
I'm not big on power metal, but I've been listening to this song nonstop these past few days. The solo is pure awesomeness
Born of Osiris
Deathcore is not on the top of my list of genres, but this band is one of the few exceptions. Most deathcore bands tend to be really generic. The addition of a synth as well as some interesting upbeat grooves makes this song interesting.

Black metal may be one of their greatest hits. Venom was able to coin a term that eventually described an entire genre. Here's the song that started it all

New Blogger
What's up? I'm new to the blogging scene, but I'm not new to the metal scene. I'm gonna be talking about some of the most heavy bands of all time and some up and coming ones.
